About the role:
The Analyst / Associate is part of the Investment Team at Phoenix Partners and is responsible for understanding the business and growth strategies of each investment opportunity, researching the market, financial modelling and presenting findings and recommendations for acquisition prospects to the executive team.
Specifically, the Analyst / Associate participates in various M&A activities, including due diligence, building financial models, preparing packages, execution of the transaction, and assisting with the development and implementation of integration plans to ensure long term success.
You will join a growing team in a position that requires a good understanding of finance and accounting fundamentals.
Responsibilities:
• Emphasis for this position will be on building complex financial models
• Research and analyze potential markets and targets
• Research, identify, and analyze various acquisition opportunities and document potential acquisitions
• Participate in the valuation of potential acquisitions and the due diligence process
• Review legal documentation
• Support and analyze performance of portfolio companies
• Support management in multiple tasks such as valuation, presentation to the investment committee, etc.
• Support management in various special projects
Experience:
• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in investment, private equity, investment banking or M&A advisory
• CPA, CFA, and/or CBV designation an asset
• Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or other related programs
• Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong financial modelling skills
• Ability to work in a team and adapt to a changing environment
• Excellent knowledge of financial and accounting fundamentals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French
