FRANÇOIS FAUTEUX

FOUNDER & MANAGING PARTNER

 

Prior to establishing Phoenix Partners, François led the private equity team in Eastern Canada at a Bank-owned private equity group for over 10 years. Prior to that, he excelled for a decade as an investment banker. While in private equity, François led or participated in a dozen acquisitions valued in excess of $300M.

François is a Director of RefPlus Inc and Les Industries Bernard & Fils Ltée as well as Chairman of CRH Oral Design Inc. François holds an MBA from McGill University and an undergraduate degree in finance from HEC Montréal.

DAVID LE HOUX, CFA

MANAGING PARTNER

 

Prior to joining Phoenix in 2016, David was at National Bank of Canada for over 12 years for National Bank Financial where he began his career as a corporate banker before being promoted to Financial Markets, where he specialized in risk management solutions. Since 2016, David has been directly involved in each of Phoenix’s acquisitions and contributes to day-to-day management of our portfolio companies.

David is a Director of Alcor matériaux de toiture inc. and Les Industries Bernard et Fils Ltée.

He holds a CFA designation and a BComm from HEC Montréal.

Marie-Julie Brunelle

VICE PRESIDENT

 

Marie-Julie joined Phoenix Partners in 2018 after having worked for fourteen years at Uni-Select Inc., including the last six years in the role of Director of Treasury, Credit & Business Support. Throughout her career, she developed extensive experience in acquisitions, financing, integration and restructuring as well as treasury management. Her experience working with entrepreneurs, driving growth and optimizing operations will contribute greatly to the success of Phoenix Partners for years to come.

Marie-Julie is a CPA, CGA and a member of the Quebec Order of Chartered Accountants. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from University du Quebec of Montreal.

PIERRE BITAR

DIRECTOR

 

Prior to joining Phoenix Partners, Pierre was Director of M&A at Clairus Group Inc., a leading provider of automotive glass services where he led and participated in multiple acquisitions. Prior to that, he worked in a Big Four accounting firm in advisory and audit and brings more than 12 years of experience in accounting and transaction advisory services.

Pierre is also a lecturer at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) where he teaches various accounting and finance topics.

Pierre is a CPA, CA, CFA. He also holds a Bachelor and a Graduate diploma in Accounting from UQAM.

Patrick Foley

ENTREPRENEUR IN RESIDENCE

 

Patrick joined Phoenix Partners in 2020. Over the last 20 years, he was EVP of The Luminaires Group, a North American lighting manufacturer, as well as CEO of one of the Group's divisions: Eureka Lighting, a North American leader in decorative lighting solutions manufacturing. During his tenure, the Group’s revenue increased 10 fold and the team completed four acquisitions in Canada and the US. In 2016, the Group completed a transaction with a New-York based private equity fund before being acquired in 2019 by the largest lighting manufacturer in North America (Acuity Brands – NYSE-AYI).

Patrick holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from École Polytechnique as well as an MBA from École des Hautes Études Commerciales in Montréal.
